About Me
Marco Marchioni
I have been passionate about photography since I was a child, thanks to my love for nature. Spending time outdoors and having direct contact with the earth has always been my passion, so photography became the natural consequence of this love for nature and its wonders. I started taking photos in 2007 and have never stopped since then. Photography has allowed me to explore numerous countries and discover the world. I am a freelance photographer specializing in nature photography, and in recent years, I have focused my work on capturing the ever-changing nature, its symbiosis with humanity, and the importance of conservation.
Recently, I have primarily focused on photojournalism, using my images to tell the public about the negative consequences that humanity inflicts on nature through its behaviors. At the same time, I also strive to highlight the positive connection that sometimes forms between humans and nature, promoting conservation.
My photographic travels have mainly focused on Europe and Africa, visiting countries such as Spain, Botswana, Namibia, Ethiopia, Zambia, Tanzania, Kenya, and of course, Italy. During these journeys, I have dedicated myself to documenting various endangered species, such as elephants at the renowned David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust orphanage in Kenya, the last northern white rhinos in the Ol Pejeta Reserve, also in Kenya, and I have also created a reportage on the Iberian lynx in Spain.
My dedication to environmental conservation led me to publish an article on biodiversity in Ethiopia on the Asferico Web website in 2014. Additionally, I organized a screening focused on the biodiversity of Ethiopian wildlife at the AFNI LAZIO headquarters in Rome.
I am proudly a member of the nature photography agency “Nature in Stock,” based in the Netherlands.
